Affiliate Disclosure

Transparency about how we make money

The Short Version

BestPickd earns money through affiliate commissions. When you click a link on our site and make a purchase, we may receive a small commission at no extra cost to you. This is how we fund our research and keep the site running.

Commission rates never influence our recommendations. We recommend products based on quality and value, period.

The Details

What is Affiliate Marketing?

Affiliate marketing is a common way for content creators to earn revenue. When we link to a product on Amazon (or another retailer), that link contains a unique tracking code. If you make a purchase through that link, we earn a small percentage of the sale.

The price you pay is exactly the same whether you use our link or go directly to the retailer. The commission comes from the retailer's marketing budget, not from your pocket.

Our Affiliate Partnerships

We primarily participate in the following affiliate programs:

  • Amazon Associates: Most of our product links go to Amazon. We earn between 1-10% depending on the product category.

We may add additional affiliate partnerships in the future. This page will be updated to reflect any changes.

How This Affects (and Doesn't Affect) Our Recommendations

What affiliate relationships DON'T do:

  • Determine which products we recommend
  • Influence our rankings or "Best" designations
  • Change how we evaluate products
  • Affect whether we include negative feedback

What affiliate relationships DO:

  • Allow us to operate without paywalls or ads
  • Fund our research and content creation
  • Let us provide free access to everyone

Real Examples of Our Independence

To demonstrate our commitment to unbiased recommendations:

  • We often recommend products with lower commission rates because they're genuinely better.
  • We include critical feedback and cons for every product, even our top recommendations.
  • We recommend against purchasing products that don't meet our standards, even when we could earn commission.
  • We've never removed negative content at a brand's request.

FTC Compliance

Per Federal Trade Commission (FTC) guidelines, we disclose our affiliate relationships prominently on every page containing affiliate links. You'll see disclosure notices at the top of product pages and in our footer.

Questions?
